Okay. So you graduated and made it through high school. Big whoop-de-doo. What do you want - a cookie? Well, let me tell you something. If you thought high school was hard, don't even bother applying here. They'll cut you down like a dead tree, snap you up and eat you alive. You won't even last a day. You've got to be prepared for this, because Crescent Hill University is like no other. We're ruthless here. We're strong and we're cruel. But that's only because you've got to learn your life lessons and we're the ones who are going to teach them to you - the hard way.
Located conveniently near Crescent Hill Academy, Crescent Hill U is also in Brooklyn Heights of Brooklyn, New York. But everything is not fun and games here. Sure, there are nice people, but it'll take a bit of hard searching and friend scouting for you to find 'em. You better come here with friends or at least know somebody; it'll be tough being the new kid. And when we say tough, we mean it. Here, all the clichés and stereotypes you heard about in high school come alive. Here is where the line is drawn.

It was a quiet place that Tashiro knew few people ever visited. Such a small nook by that far back wall, hidden from sight by that sharp tuning corner and few bookshelves. There was little light in this area, but he was not here to read. Often times he would be found in the music rooms or the theater when he needed peace of mind. But today he tried something new. Sitting on the floor between two chairs, cross-legged. Headphones on, he leaned against the support and listened.
There was a steady beat, strong and quick, his heart set aflutter by the pressure against his ears. Though he hardly listened to it, he enjoyed a good loud bout of heavy metal. So long as the person wasn’t screaming. Singers who screamed for the majority of their songs could not be considered as having talent. They were just loud. Moderation was necessary in true art. It was a lesson many people were in need of learning.
Notebook before him, the gentle lyrics forming in a dark pooling ink upon the paper. Delicate curves of his writing formed carefully written, tilted cursive lettering. Which formed words. Forming lines. To stanzas. A piece of art in words on a thin piece of unlined paper. His journal. Filled with tiny scrawled scores of his heart and the unthought out lyrics of his mind. Little things. His words that no one cared to read.
Nor would he ever think to show them.

Pete walked slowly into the library. He looked around to make sure he was alone. 'Hello?' Pete said, gazing around. He heard someone grab something. 'Hello?' Pete repeated. 'Anybody here?' He asked. Pete heard a chair. 'Listen. I am not going to bite you or something like that,' Pete spoke calmly. He waited a couple seconds, and then someone appeared.

Tashiro couldn’t remember having inched closer to the chair, but when it scraped against the floor from his pushing against it, he couldn’t help but jump in surprise and stare amazed at the object. He had found himself in a trance, simple and dazed. The sound, it seemed, had erupted around him during the transition between songs, startling him from his dreaming.
Apart from that…a voice was calling out to him.
Not really to him, but he was sure that he was the person being addressed. Pausing the music, he listened carefully to see if the person would call again. And he did. Yes, it was a he. The tone and pitch was definitely male. So he rose, wondering why he was being summoned by a stranger, and stepped from the shadows and around the corner to confront the person. Not because he had been called. But he felt willingly to oblige, though with a stony look in his eyes and a face void of emotion.

Pete gazed at the person who had appeared. 'Hi,' He said softly. He took a few steps and held out his hand. 'Pete. Pete Litz,' He introduced himself. Pete's brown eyes looked into the dark eyes of the person in front of him. He waited for an answer.

Delicately arching a subtly bemused eyebrow, he stared momentarily at the hand extended towards him, almost in wonder at what he was supposed to do. Ah yes! Shake it. A useless gesture, really. So he took hold if it gently, give it one shake before releasing the appendage, and greeted the newcomer in his own way. With a traditional bow. “Tashiro,” he replied, glad that he himself did not have to be the person to make the first introduction.
But now that the formalities were over and done with…he had no idea where the gestures or – if he was daring – conversation would lead. Honestly he was dreading it. But socialization was good for him, despite the fact that he hated it. Despised it. Loathed being with other people to such an extent that he made it a goal to avoid them at all costs.

Pete looked at what Tashiro did. 'So...Tashiro,' Pete begun, 'Are you Japanese or something?' Pete looked at some books, waiting for Tashiro to answer. He took out a book. 'Boring...' He muttered.
